Title: Shared Medical Appointments: Interdisciplinary Pathway to Reimbursement for NMDOH Services and Lifestyle Medicine

On February 27, 2025, this panel from the Waco Family Medicine, the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the Heart of Texas, discussed their experiences implementing shared medical appointments (SMAs). SMAs are evidence-based, reimbursable clinical encounters in which health care is offered and delivered in a group setting by qualified medical professionals. An interdisciplinary care team from Waco Family Medicine will share their experience implementing the model. Through the model, they bring nutrition and food, physical activity, and social support to patients while also achieving the Triple Aim of enhancing patient experience, improving population health, and reducing costs.
