In earlier work, evaluation was program established to be essential in improving and sustaining NMDOH services in health care setting. Building on this line of investigation, the Texas NMDOH Consortium reviewed evaluation materials from 42 NMDOH programs in Texas by considering aspects of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 2024 “Program Evaluation Framework.” They found that most evaluations now focus on practiceal implementation questions. Assessing the impact on health and costs will be crucial evaluation questions as NMDOH programs mature. Addressing barriers to starting and conducting well-designed will strengthen the field and enhance the effectiveness in delivering NMDOH services that improve health.
