Translating Texas’ Health Care Spending Into Better Outcomes

Despite spending more on health care by percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) than its peer high-income countries, the U.S. has not seen the abundance of services or improved outcomes for patients that one might expect. Instead, as medical costs increase, U.S. health outcomes continue to lag behind those of other developed nations. This discussion covered the unique opportunity to get more value from health care spending by investing in the non-medical drivers of health.

This discussion was hosted by The Honorable David Satterfield, with guests Elena M. Marks and Charles W. Mathias.
