Introduction to Medical-Legal Partnerships for Texas Health Care Professionals

Across the country, hundreds of hospitals, community health centers, and other health care providers were using the medical-legal partnership (MLP) approach to improve patient and population health. Yet many health care professionals remained unfamiliar with this patient-centered model, which integrates legal expertise into the medical care process to address the root causes of poor health outcomes. This webinar offered an engaging discussion of how MLPs worked, why they were gaining traction in federal and Texas health policy, and whether the approach could benefit participants’ practices, organizations, and patients.
